Obituary

Mr. Donald D. Sobczak, 95, Veteran US Navy, at Ingalls Hospital after a short illness.  Beloved son of his late parents Joseph and Irene (nee Solie).  Cherished husband for 73 years to Aurania (nee Ousset).  Devoted father of; Kenneth (Terri), Richard (Lil) and Donalyn (the late Dave) Jurkiewicz.  Dearest grandfather of; Tim (Jody), Mike, AmyJurkiewicz and Taylor.  Dearest great-grandfather of 3.  Donald loved to build model boats.  He originally worked for Continental Bank,but ultimately worked as a semi-truck driver in the transportation industry.  He was truly devoted an passionate about hard work, and even missed his 25th wedding anniversary out of devotion to working to provide for his family.  He was nic-named "Company Man"  because of his self sacrificing attitude to putting in a hard days work.  Visitation Monday February 20th, from 9-11am, with an 11:00 prayer service officiated by Pastor Keith Betry.  Interment Oak Hill Cemetery, Blue Island.
