Fred William Langer

Fred William Langer, age 90 years, passed away peacefully Monday morning, November 23, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Loving husband of 64 years to a wonderful wife Barbara Langer. Beloved father of Fred (Cary) Langer, James Langer, Debbie (George) Liebert, Cindy (Mike) Bartkus, Laura (Dan) Carlson, and John (Tricia) Langer. 

Cherished grandpa of Kelly (Tim) Calt, Lindsey (Eric) Taylor, Lauren Langer, Ryan (Lauren) Langer, Chris Zidek, Evan Langer, Jacqueline Langer, Nathan Liebert, Alex Langer, Brandon Langer, Tom Bartkus, Jacob Liebert, Steve Bartkus, Chloe Langer, and Mikayla Carlson. Treasured great grandpa to Cooper Calt.

Devoted brother and dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Loyal member of the Sprinkler Fitters’ Local 281 for more than 55 years.  Proud veteran of the Army 3rd Armored Division, Fort Knox Kentucky, Korean War Veteran.

His love and generosity will be missed by all who knew him.

A prayer service will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the Maher Funeral Home, 17101 71st Avenue, Tinley Park, Illinois 60477; however, due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance is limited to immediate family only.  The service can be viewed remotely via Zoom. A Zoom link will be provided via email. Please contact the Funeral Home for the link.  

A celebration of Fred’s life will be held sometime next year at that time when we can gather in person.
