James Hansley Obituary

James Douglas Hansley passed away at home on November 23, 2020. Born in Dayton, Ohio on December 6, 1945, Jim earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Chicago in Physics in 1968. He and two colleagues started Datec, Inc., a computer programming and consulting firm. In 2001, Jim transitioned to other computer programming opportunities. Married to his beloved wife Christine nee Schrubbe Hansley since 1984. Loving son of the late George S. Hansley and the late Lucille M. nee Ackers Hansley. Loyal brother of Caroline (late Roger) Jamison, Jane F. Hansley, and David L. Hansley. Uncle of Lisa (Ben) Britton, Eric Jamison, and Great Uncle to Angela Britton. Many cousins. In addition to computer programming and consulting, Jim was an avid reader generally and specifically of military history and American Civil War history. Wife Chris began volunteering at the Pritzker Military Library and Museum in 2006 and Jim followed suit in 2010, volunteering and becoming a member. Jim was fascinated by aviation and liked visiting aviation related museums and attending "fly-ins." His favorite air museum was the National Museum of the Air Force in his hometown Dayton, Ohio. Other passions included camping, astronomy, and family. A memorial service is being planned for Dayton, Ohio and Tinley Park, with details to be announced at a later date.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
