James H. Jones Obituary


James H. Jones, age 80 of Kimbolton Ohio, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at his home. He was born in Cook County, Illinois, a son of the late Howard F. Jones and Anne (Kapala) Jones - Balas.
Mr. Jones was Catholic by faith. He was a teacher at Reavis High School in Burbank, IL.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who enjoyed spending time at The Farm in Ohio and watching his sons and grandchildren participate in their activities. He was an avid Indy Car and baseball enthusiast and an avid collector of postcards.
Jim was a mentor and inspiration to many through his years of teaching, coaching and refereeing. Being a life long Catholic, he enjoyed working with the K of C and teaching religious education.
He leaves his wife of almost 49 years, Bonnie L. (Bauch) Jones; two sons, A.J. (Michelle) Jones and Michael (Heidi) Jones; grandchildren, Austin, Gillian, Andrew, Gavin and Blythe; two sisters, Christine (Gene) Deliudice and Rose Anne (Lloyd) Zeigel and eleven nieces and nephews.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Anna May Shackleton.
Memorial Visitation Monday July 13th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Maher Funeral Home 17101 S. 71st Ave Tinley Park (1 block east of Harlem on 171st St. in the Olde Tinley Library). Family and friends to gather Tuesday July 14th 9:45am directly at St. George Church (6707 175th St. Tinley Park)  for Memorial Mass at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor  may be made to St. Benedicts School (701 Gomber Avenue Cambridge, Ohio 43725) would be appreciated.
