Richard W Diviero 81, of Sun City Center, Florida, formerly of Lemont passed away Monday morning, April 10 at home peacefully with family at his side. Preceded in death by Beloved wife of 53 years Donna (nee Cambron) Diviero.  Son of the late Richard and Mamie (nee Commiso) Diviero. Dear brother of Loraine Johnson and Donald Diviero. Dear father to Richard (Lori), David, Michael (Shannon), and (late) Anthony Diviero. Proud and loving grandfather of eight wonderful grandchildren, Alyssa (David) Sells, Vincent Diviero, Deanne (Samuel) Green, Adrianna, Chris, David, Erica Diviero and Rebecca Martini. Loving Great Grandpa to Colton and Payton Sells. Fond Uncle of Bob, Rodney, Karen, Cheryl, Jamie and Taylor.
Richard was the son of Italian immigrants with a very large extended family with many Aunts, Uncle and cousins mostly residing in the Chicagoland area.

Rich volunteered his service to the US Army in 1961 and while enlisted married his wife of 53 years Donna. After his service Rich and Donna returned to their home state of Illinois and started a family.  Rich briefly worked for the railroad but didn’t like the swing shifts so started a career in sales. He started selling tree diggers and construction equipment. Then got into heavy duty truck sales working for Freeway Ford. Rich never stood still, always trying to go where the action was. He moved around to many different dealerships and was well known in the Chicagoland truck business. Even starting his own dealership at one point. During the seventies oil crisis truck sales were very slow so Rich started a lawn fertilizer business that he ran for many years. Rich had a very entrepreneurially spirit and tried his hand at many business ventures even into his retirement he had an online business selling truck and car graphics.

There are many fond memories of holiday celebrations especially Christmas and July 4th parties at the home in Palos Hills then Lemont. The house in Lemont was a very popular place with the family and all the grandkids. There were many summer days spent hanging out by the pool and having cookouts with grandma and grandpa.
After the passing of Donna he moved to sunny Florida to escape the Chicago winters but always looked forward to visits from family, especially his grand kids.
Richard leaves behind a wonderful family and many fond memories. He will always be in our hearts and will be missed greatly.
