Rita J. McGillivray (nee Hammar) age 89. Passed away on November 19, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Richard J. McGillivray. Loving mother of Joan McGillivray, Rich (Kathy) McGillivray, Julie McGillivray, John (Aimee) McGillivray and Rob (Beth) McGillivray. Proud grandmother of Mary Kate, Krista (Jake), Becky (Gallo), Brian, Sarah (Matt), Abby (Angel), Ben (Hayley), Naomi, Adam, Andrew, Sean, Dana (Zach), Megan (Aaron) and Ian. Great grandmother of Valerie, Vivian, Stella and Henry. Fond aunt and great aunt of many. Preceded in death by her three brothers: Frank (late Nora), Ken (late Delilah) and Ray (late Caroline) and 2 great grandchildren: James and Ellynor. Visitation, Friday, November 24, 2023, at Maher Funeral Home, 17101 71st Ave, Tinley Park, IL 60477 from 4 to 8 PM. Funeral Saturday, November 25, 10:45 am from Maher Funeral Home to St. Julie of Billiart Church for mass at 11:30 am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lightways Hospice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
