Virginia Klucikowski Obituary

 

 

Virginia passed peacefully in her sleep on September 14th, 2021 after 99 ½ years of a full life. Being born on March 12th1922 in Chrisman, IL to Isaac and Edna Turner. The oldest of three children, John Joseph the middle, Mary Ellen (Madden) the youngest, growing up on the farm in Chrisman. After graduating nursing school she married Norbert Klucikowski on January 27th 1945 and settled in Evergreen Park. Virginia had her first child while Norbert served as an Army doctor at the end of WWII. Virginia raised her four children, Ginger (Frank), Jeanne, Butch (Carla), and Judie, mostly on her own after Norbert passed at the age of 39. Virginia served as a school nurse in 4-5 schools simultaneously where she cared for hundreds of Evergreen Park students. Virginia was an avid gardener and loved being outdoors and staying active. Her family looked forward to her excellent baking and cooking. She was grandmother to Michael (Tracy) & Kevin (Pamela) Gaffney, Brittany (Jeff Jonaitis) & Sloan (Grecco) Warren, Nicholas & Sierra (Andrew Schimmels) Klucikowski, Kristen (Joe Marias), Caitlin, & Caroline (Justin Barnes) Curry. Interesting note is she skied with all of her grandchildren and continued to ski until the age of 80. She was also the great grandmother to Taylor, Rion, & Michael Gaffney; Kevin & Abigael Gaffney; Cassidy Bohn, Olivia & Crew Jonaitis; Blythe, Maisyn, Micah Greco; Kaela Kendall Jenkins, Harlow & Hunter Marias. Virginia remained committed to her faith and her family all her life and her radiant spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation Friday, September 17, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Maher Funeral Home, 17101 71st Avenue, Tinley Park, Illinois 60477. 708-781-9212. Funeral Saturday, 11:00 am at Maher Funeral Home, Funeral procession to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, where she will be laid to rest with her husband. In remembrance of Virginia’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Epilepsy Foundation..
